The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: Penn State Univ. Berks Campus gave me a new outlook on life. My professors were terrific. I was one of the five women out of approximately 400 students. I excelled, took jobs at Western Electric (Allentown) and Reading, PA. I also worked at Carpenter Technology wherein I became disillusioned and spent the next ten years living a bohemian life; adventures, sorrows, and fun too. I was the first female engineer associate at Western Electric in Reading, PA. In 1984 I moved from Pennsylvania to Princeton and changed careers. I worked my way up the corporate ladder at Bloomberg LP to accounting manager, despite my degree in Chem Engineering and physics. I met my husband on the CFS RESEARCH hotline in 2001. We were united in the UK and married on Halloween 2002. I am on disability for chronic fatigue syndrome since 1990. We live a nice life with our 5 geckos in Princeton, NJ. I have been to Paris twice and the UK many times. The last was May 2009 on the Queen Mary 2. I've seen the Rolling Stones many times. I credit my time with at PSU for my life, strength and creditability. God bless you all. Would welcome any contact with other PSU'ers. Email: carolelawrence@comcast.net. |
